Hello! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am Jeremy Gregory, the new Executive Director here at OneMorgan County. I’m incredibly humbled and honored to have the opportunity to advance OMC’s mission to foster relationships among diverse people and organizations to strengthen the well-being, safety, and cohesive nature of our community.
As a 3rd generation Colorado native who comes from a long line of farmers, teachers, artists, philanthropists and altruists, the principles of continued growth, conscious benevolence and equitable education and vocation are tenets that I continue to value highly.
A little about me, I am co-creator of an award winning multimedia arts space in Denver, Colorado that was philanthropic and educational in nature. I served in the Peace Corps teaching Community-Based Natural Resource Management, conservation and sustainability issues as well as life-building skills and English to kids in the village and continue to play an active role in an Income Generating Project I helped create with the communities I served in Malawi, Africa. I also held a successful volunteer engagement position at Metro Volunteers that entailed teaching workshop facilitation, while assisting to expand the capacity of the organization by developing and expanding business-client relationships, and building and strengthening coalitions and alliances working with city stake holders and the nonprofit community.
Also, in 1993 I formed a nationally touring experimental art rock band. Three years later I used this platform and co-founded my first non-profit organization. Over the past 20 plus years in this sector, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience in NGO development, operations and project management and social entrepreneurial enterprise as well as community outreach and coalition building. Personally, I follow a positive energy approach in my daily life from exercise to diet. I stay as active and healthy as possible through hiking, camping, biking, gardening and through a plethora of hobbies and activities such as photography, art, music, reading and writing!
As someone who supports inclusiveness, genuinely welcomes and celebrates diverse voices and perspectives and enjoys working in a learning-centered environment, I am excited in the potential of OneMorgan County. I look forward to building upon the OMC’s programs as well as initiating others and overall expand the capacity of the organization to advance its mission and vision.
Morgan County is a melting pot of diversity. There are thousands of immigrants who call Morgan County home. We are all neighbors, co-workers, friends and family.
What a wonderful exuberance of rural life! On any given day, one will see the tableau of vibrancy, the benefits of economic growth and natural resources, and yet, the effects of inequality. However, resiliency and tenacity is in our DNA.
I am lucky to be joining a fantastic team and an inspiring community. I am excited to get to know the places, meet the people and explore the challenges that can make a true, profound difference.
I sincerely welcome you along for what will be a very engaging and fulfilling ride. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to further strengthen and galvanize an amazing community.
Come in and say Hi, I’d love to meet you.
